Unit 2 Task 5


Evaluation

The meaning of creativity is the use of the imagination or original ideas, also known as a phenomenon whereby of something new and valuable which is created  esp. in the production of an artistic work. In unit 2 we had to show creativity by bring new ideas especially in task 3 because we had to bring ideas to our community news channel and we had to see what we would include in to the programme . As it was a pre production task we had to bring new ideas to show what we would require in the news programme. I had decided to do a community news programme with my group since I though there was a gap in the market for the news programme and I as bringing new ideas on what I would include in this programme. Showing creativity in the group gives high marks on the tasks on the work. 
I used imagination when I was creating a student magazine and making a community news programme. I used originality to show that my idea was my own like making the actual news blog for unit. I used my own ideas of making sure that using digital equipment was easy to understand and anyone could follow the instructions. 
Also creating an original website is me showing creativity. The script for the news channel is creating something which we are writing something new and original. We creativity in getting the desired shots for the how to video. We had used creativity all the way through this course for making new web blogs, making script's and storyboards for our How to Video, 


Th ability to work accuracy: we had to make sure that we followed all tasks precisely and on the dot. For example in Unit 2 Task 2 for the how to video we made sure that we filmed all the tasks right to the letter of the specification to make sure that all the tasks were done precisely . In order to show the task appropriate we had to make sure  that  the task we filmed and explained clearly and nothing was hard to understand.  I had to make sure that all script was accurate before we began filming this mean proof reading; I had to make sure that my story boards were accuratly annotated prior to filming, which included accurate shot of breviate and information. In my prezi presentation I had to make sure that all my paths were accurate. In my editing the clips were trimmed so that contuinity editing was possible. I had to make sure in my project proposals; I used media language appropriately to be understood properly. In our group work for unit 2 Task 2 we needed to have a good knowledge of the  Cannon HD Legeria Mini HD since we will would using it often We needed to know how to use the zoom bottom to accurately frame shots according accurate shots specifications. We needed to make sure that the tripod had the right spirit level so that we could level the tripod for filming .When we need to edit strips .We also needed to have a clear knowledge of the MAC and IMovie so we would not need assistants on how to use these equipment and we are able to work Indepandtly. In my Target Audience research I had to work accuracy as I wanted to find out. With prezi we needed to position path number in long numbers in accuracy to be order in squence.  In target audience the primary research had to be accurate since I needed to find out who would be my audience so the information had to be correct not have anything missing. Fro example the questions had to be spelt correctly, data from the questionnaires had to be input into spreadsheets accurately into graphs. Any extended feedback had to be represented accurately analysis. For secondary research the research had also be accurate in order to find out weather people would be interested in a news programme. The instructions given to us by the teacher had to be accurate in order of complete the task successfully. The quotation from sources had to be accurate and paraphrasing had to accurately presented by the sources. The content of the proposal had to be accurate, for example the content on the student newspaper had to be accurately explained so that the students can have a clear understanding of what the newspaper would require. Also the idea of the news programme also had to be accurately defined so that I can show where and what I got  my idea from making a student newspaper. Giving instructions had to be accurately clear that people can understand on how this is used. For example giving instructions on how to use the tripod had to be given clearly so that there wouldn't be any occurring hazards such as someone getting their fingers caught on the tripod leg because they did open the Tripod leg to the full amount or not put  the Tripod fluid level properly which will make filming the shots incredibly hard since it wouldn't be at the right level. Also in how to video's showing caring for equipment had to accurately shown so that the people who watch the video can have an understand on how to look after these equipment properly.  For meeting deadline’s we had to make sure the task was given in on time on the deadline to show good time keeping. We were given a certain amount of time to hand in different tasks of work to the teacher. We had been  given feedback and had to do this and been given a deadline to hand this task in.  There was a different amount of time for different task as some task were much longer than others were. For example my group and I had to make a news blog which did not take as long as making a news Blog was not as long as people thought it would be. However making the how to video’s did take a long time so the deadline for that was a lot more longer than Task 1. The 4 tasks of developing skills, evidencing production skills and understanding industries procdeure and etiquette, creating and devloping project ideas and treatments and undertaking primary and secondary research fro product and mounted to many weaks work. Therefore time managment and meeting the set dealing for each of these dealines was critical. in production meeting dealines was espically important because people were only available for skills production for certain times. Deadline had to be met in order to show that I have done the work. However extension date can be given by the teacher if they think the students could have done the work to a better quality of standard.  For example the deadline for Task 2 the deadline was for the 6th November. We had met the deadline, however some of the how to video tasks was not as high standards as they were  needed to be. Like the video of using Digital equipment of Cannon HD Legeria Camcorder was to high standard but the video of the ability to follow instructions was not as high standered. So we got an extension date to a weak to make sure that we follow the tasks to what we covered that element o four transferrable skills in as much details as other elements. Also in the production area of this unit, meeting deadline was especially important for this as  it wasn't just our time we could be potentially wasting it could be other people's time as well if I don't use my time to meet thee deadline. For instance we had the deadline of making the news blog which was given by 19th October 2013. So we had to make sure that we before hand we planned what we needed to do and made sure that we book the recording studio for the podcast which was needed for it. If we had missed that recording schedule time then we would have to waste more time in booking the recording studio as well as getting an experienced person on the recording scheduale. For meeting deadline you need to make sure that we meet all the required tasks and is all met. Meeting deadline was important for location as we had to make sure that we filmed certain segment at certain location. For instance if we didn't film the location of the media room of someone filming on how o use IMove than we would have missed that deadline and consequences such as ringing up the students parents as well bringing the student up after school to make sure that all the required information is not missing.

For Unit 2 we have shown lots of use of equipment and material for example we have shown how to use a canon HD Legria cam corder as well many presentation tools as well as Prezi and Keynote. Especially in Unit 2 Task 2 on the How to video’s we shown using equipment and new materials. The use of equipment we have used is the MACS and editing tools of IMovie. For Imovie we have learnt how to edit clips of the footage  of the video and re sizing and cropping the footages. We have shown many techniques for media and have showed good presentation skills which helps us improve our presentation devices. Presentation features are important and we have clearly demonstrated this in the how to video. We made sure that it was easy to follow and people could follow the instruction without getting from any help. Also we have shown other materials such as using prezi as me and my group feel that it was an important presentation skills especially in media OCR Nationals. In our How to Videos we had to show to using presentation device, I have explained on how to use Prezi and have showed how this can affect your grade.  For using the CamCorder Cannon HD Legeria there were some of the shots we filmed accurately and there was certain and there were certain shots we didn't film accurately. For example in our  Task of how to use digital equipment we had shown good shots sizes of close up shots of Alex as it has enough clear shot of him. Also the close up shots of the camera button was accurately shown so that it wasn't visible.  However there were tasks were we haven't filmed the shots to the correct standard of shots sizes. For example the task of saving storing and indexing work, the shots were wobbly taken as the tripod fluid level was not set out properly. So the shot would not have been to a correct standard. The panning shot was not as regular throughout  the video as they were not in time so zooming into the function was too fast and we didn't get to see all the required skills. I could have improved this desired shot by practising the shots of panning and tilting. I could have practised the shots so that when I did re shoot the shots it would be the right desired shots and nothing would be out of focus and was in at the right time of panning. We have shown how to use IMovie such as putting titles and was well timed in the video. For example we had added titles throughout the how to video's so that all the video had be shown what it is and had the credits of who had be filmed and editing and acted by our group. Our how to video was filmed well in time so that nothing was missed out. We have shown material by doing well detailed storyboards. We had to make sure that we added all the camera shots. However we had to make sure that we made a well planned storyboards for all of our how to task which we didn't so there was some struggle as some of the videos was not to a good standards. So I would make sure that I would do the script make sure that it is annotated and make sure that I have all the desired shots. In this Unit, in our groups, we made sure that we share tasks so that everyone has a go at each tasks and it was much easier to get the tasks done much quicker. For example in my task 1 I shared task within my group by getting everyone to write an article of their own choice so that it would look like a popper community blog. Everyone had their own choices to write about their own article in any form so that its an actually news blog. We also shared task in our how to videos by the people in our group sharing out the role of the writing the script for the video as well as giving ideas of the video. Also each of us in the groups gave out ideas of what to put in the how to videos gave out roles to see who would be in charge of what given to what their good at. For example in my group Sarah was good  at organisation so we made sure that she would organise the equipments and Alex had creative skills so he helps out a lot in editing.  We made sure that we help everyone out in the group. We had share task in our skills  tasks so all had to make sure that everyone had done it. For Example I had originally made the community shared blog so that my group can put their input and there stories and podcast on. Sarah shared the task by editing the blog to make it look like a professional blog. Alex and Callum shared the task by adding their article's of stories and made sure  that we everyone had their stories in the podcast and news video. We shared the role of the podcast by everyone in our group added their own stories with their chosen sound affects. In how to video's we had shared task which is shown in the credit's at the end. It shows who has filmed the roles, edit the footage and who acted the role of the film. For example we all had different done different task for each video so that we all had shared different task and no one was stuck doing the same thing. For example in our task of saving, storing and indexing work I was acting in the video, sarah edited the video and Callum filmed and it was script by Alex. But with using digital equipment Sarah was editing the shot, it was acted by Alex and Me and Callum was in charge of doing some of the roles.

We supported our team member so that if anyone had any struggles with any of the task we would help them out. For example some of our team member had struggle to find ideas  to what to put in the news program. We helped them out by giving them ideas and giving them some tips on how to start the article so that it was engaging and interesting. We made sure that if anyone needed help we would help them to what they needed. Its good to help out your team members so that they don't struggle and you get a good point for helping out the group. Its show good workmanship helping out your team members. In the how to video we all took on discrete responsibilites for each segmants of the video and rotted through out the entire anthology of films. We were totally depandant our compacity to support each, to give each other technical support support and advice with writing, to present for each other, film for each other and share ideas for the edit. In IMovie there were certain people who had to struggled to use this editing than other people for example. Callum our team member has not got a good clear knowledge than Sarah who has got a great knowledge of using the how to video. So Sarah would help out Callum with editing the footage of the how to videos of the ability to work without supervision. We had shown supported other members of type of story they should put it in the skills unit. For example I helped Alex decided on talking about the three men accused of stabbing for his storyline in the news blog.

In Creativity the ability to meet dealines had to make sure that we organise our time well so that we can hand in our work on time. Also we had to make sure that we had some time to get feedback and improving on them.  We had to show this throughout the unit like in the how to video, we made sure that it was handed in one time with the feedback and improvements that has been done in the unit. we had to make sure that we meet the deadline. Its good to be able to meet the deadline as you show that you can meet deadline and have good organsatioin skills. For how to Video's there were certain deadline's we could not meet due to how many task we had to film in including the extension task. We had to make sure that we had all the footages of the task within the date of the deadline even though we had extension dates. So my group I had to think outside the box and had to think creatively in how to put all the video's all together. So we thought creatvily to 'kill the bird the bird with three stones' by putting three how to task into one big task. This would less time as we are making one video for two or three things. Plus it would save time for editing two video instead of one. so we did this by putting following instructions, and offering technical support into one video. We had to think creatively and quickly since we didn't have enough time left to do all the how to video's so we have to put two video's into. This would help us meet our deadline and it saves time overall. However extension date can be given if they think the work is not up to the right standards. 

In Evaluating peers there were people  who were better at some tasks than I was so i got help and tips from them. For example Alex had good creative skills especially in editing, he would get cuts and shots for the videos. Also sarah who was in my group she was very good at organising skills. So I took advice from her on organising the group and made sure that everyone was one time and I made sure that we got all the equipment's and following the tasks we were set out to do. In the group we had to evaluate peers to show who was better at what we did. Evaluating peers means that you can show who is stronger at what and get helpful tips from them on how to improve yourself with skills. For example I got help from Alex with editing and on show to creativity in the how to videos. My peers evaluated my product part of primary research, their feedback was very useful. I learn that they consider soft to be considered as hard news and wont be interested in news in hards news. I took my parts my views.I evaluated class mate of mine who had developed her product for pimrary reseach and gave her useful feedback in adding more colours and make it more visually appealing. In filming there were certain shots that people filmed that had to be redone for Callum our team member did leave enough head room for a close up shot. So we had to reshoot that to get the desired shot to be passed for that Task. In the how to video's Sarah has had helped through me in getting the right in the frame. For example Sarah had helped into getting a frame shot in some of the how to video since my panning shot was not as to high standard. We had to make sure that all tasks before filming to the video. There were certain peers who was better at certain skills than others. For example Alex had good creative skills so we used his help in getting the storyboards done. Also Sarah had good knowledge of editing skills in the IMovie so  she helped us in editing the takes into a high standard

I have worked independently especially in task 2 in the how to video as I have made sure that my group has to take under direction all the task's in unit 2. We had to make sure that we followed all instruction's for our how to video. For example I had to be under direction in showing how to use presentation in our how to video. As I was under direction in showing how to use prezi and the presentation tools of the actual presentation device. I had to make sure that I followed all instruction to get that task done. I made sure that all the details was added and evereything that was asked was done. We had to make sure that we follow all task if all work done. Working under direction means that we have to follow we made sure that we had little help because we wanted to show independence. Independence was shown in the how to vidoe's. For example we made sure that the task for using for equipment was indepandatly done and was marked to high standard by the teacher. However there were certain task that was not done to high and was not indepantly done. For example offering technical support task, that was not indepeantly shown as it didn't have the required detailed needed for the video. I think the reasoning for this is that we had not annitated the As a team we have worked extremely well together as some of us are better at something than others and they would always helps us if we are struggling. For example I sometimes struggle in getting a medium shot since I don't get a lot of head room space so Sarah my team member would help me in getting the task done. The original skills we done in a team so sharing skills to each member of the group. I would not let down my team member by turning up every lesson's. 



My strength is in creative writing than the actual creative production. I can think of ideas in which creativeness such as making  the actual weblogs was my ideas which was my biggest strngth. However Sarah my team member helped me making this idea into a creative visual layout. She help me put the bright colour which represents the coolness and calmness of the website. She had helped me with the visual layout and making it look the way it does. The How to Video was another idea for creativity which shows on of the strength. As I have shown good creative skills of the actual idea of the actual how to video. But in terms in making the actual layout Alex had help with that and made it seem creative in the actual visual layout. My weakness in creativity is using prezi; the actual final presentation. doesn't look as visually appeal even though the actual presentation is there. However I can achieve in this in taking time in making my presentation looking more visually appealing. My strength of group activity is that I always get people together giving feedback and seeing what idea what people could do. My weakness is that certain people would not be able to attend the meetings so I would try and get on with and I will forget about my team member. So my biggest weakness is trying to get people up to date in my group meeting. My strength in technical support is that I will give people feedback such as Calum helping him give feedback on how to use pathways in helping with his presentation tools. I also have a clear knowledge of Prezi so I can give advice on people on how to add frames, add pictures, how to use different templates. Callumn had asked me how to make a new pathway for his frame I would I've him a clear understanding instructions in how to do this. My Weakness is technical support is trying to use iMovie since I don't have a great knowledge as some of my team member has. So I get advice from them and try and improve my technical ability. In particular areas where I have needed technical support is when I have needed to use the IMovie for Editing the how to task  for using digital task. However I got support and tips from my team member in how to improve this technical skills and has helped in practicing this skills. So when I get the chance to edit again I will have a more improved knowledge from my colleagues.

I would use creativity for the future development by showing by doing a presentation of an advert for a charity or in schools. So I could use this devices in future development in charities. I could use this to help me with my work experience of presentation to a group of people of teachers and students.The future development will help with this is that I can present news idea for such presentation tools such as Prezi an IMovie. Gain feeback on skills have been given plenty. For example in my how to video I have been given feedback in trying to improve the quality of the work. I have been giving feedback in trying to improve the standard of the work. For example in my how to task in working with out supervision I have to add more detail as I didn't have enough insufficient detail for my how to video
